Is COVID-19 a separate and distinct disease?
The symptoms of COVID-19 are certainly not distinct enough to make it a disease unlike any other. It has been purported to be very much like the flu, with a cardiovascular component in some cases.
Is long-COVID another manifestation of chronic illness that humanity is becoming more and more prone to?
This article, The Pandemic within a Pandemic by Dr. Jeffery Bland asserts that a pandemic of non communicable diseases was foreseen by the WHO in 2011. It is certainly possible that what we are experiencing is a tipping point in human health which has been caused by ubiquitous toxins, health and environmental conditions and social conditions some of which are:
poor air quality
Prescription drugs
quackcines (aka vaccines)
antibiotics taken directly and indirectly through animal products
foods devoid of nutrition and/or severely depleted from over processing such as white sugar, white salt and white flour
processed foods that have been homogenized, pasteurized or hydrogenated
chemical food preservatives
processed meats treated with nitrates, nitrites
GMO foods - they may have effects of which we are unaware
artificial sweeteners
food colorings
lack of vitamin B3, C and/or D as well as minerals needed to metabolize vitamins such as magnesium for vitamin D
chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease to name a few
chronic stress caused by the demands of modern life one of which is certainly the economics of modern life
makeup, perfumes absorbed into the skin
herbicides such as glyphosate
pesticides
fungicides
insecticides
heavy metals
neurotoxins
EMR - Electro Magnetic Radiation - some assert that waves of a certain frequency negatively affect human health
household cleaning chemicals, commercial dry cleaning chemicals
industrial chemicals that have found their way into the food chain and consumer products such as clothing and furniture. PFAS have been identified as a hazard:
PFAS chemicals lurk in stain-resistant furniture and carpets treated with Scotchgard, Stainmaster and other fabric treatments. Clothes labeled stain- or water-repellent, such as Gore-Tex jackets, usually contain PFAS chemicals. PFAS are even in personal care products and cosmetics.

DNA
To address the first question, does the genetic medicine make changes to DNA? The answer seems to be yes.
This post by Jessica Rose provides some evidence it does. There is more detailed information in the comments, particularly by Monica Hughes PhD, here and followed up by her own article, here.
A counter post by Brian Mowery who writes the substack “Unglossed”.
His conclusion:
In summary, studying DNA integration requires very precise and robust study designs. This paper set out to accomplish something ambitious without an ambitious approach.
Further speculation on the impact of the mRNA and its persistence in the body:
How long does the mRNA persist in the body?
Once made, how long do the spike proteins persist?
mRNA has been found in breast milk as per this paper
Will it find its way into an infant’s body and will spike proteins be manufactured in the infant’s body?
