I've been reading the Philip Pullman's new trilogy and found it very moving. Basically the powers that be are trying to forcibly or through subtle ways (like the League of Alexander making children betray each other for ideas and actions not in line with the Magisterium) separate children from their souls (daemons). 'Today, bodies are vaccinated against one thing and another; in future, children will be vaccinated with a substance which it will certainly be possible to produce, and this will make them immune, so that they do not develop foolish inclinations connected with spiritual life — ‘foolish’ here, of course, in the eyes of materialists.'
This march to AI, schooling via Zoom, fear of contagion from each other- is doing exactly this- separating us from our souls.
Yes, the idea of a spiritual war going on certainly has merit. The materialists want to rule our bodies and replace the spiritual with the virtual. The virtual may have something to offer in the beginning, and may have at least some long term value, but when people start to realize what they have lost, or seek something more, they will be drawn to seek the spiritual once again.
Hippies at Woodstock rolling around in the mud and having sex were not susceptible to the Hong Kong flu at the time (apparently killed 100,000 in the US). But ungrounded people transformed by over exposure to a digital environment are very susceptible to an entirely digital virus, transmitted entirely by digital media - the incomparable Eric Coppolino

too right about factory farming - not just in China- 10 million factory farmed pigs in the Uk. Tonnes of toxic sewage. Something was going to give.
